New Port Richey Florida Travel

I tried to choose a place where my family could go on holiday and I remembered how much my close friends loved the Port Richey area. I was looking for rentals on the Gulf Coast and started my search for a PortRicheY house through the owner of vacation rentals (@ vrbo). My family spent the week in a vacation home on the Florida Gulf Coast, a few miles south of the city of Fort Myers.

As we are a fishing family, this sounded great to us and we sent in our deposit for the cottage.

Our children caught lots of small fish on the floating dock and we also saw many birds nearby, and our friends became friends with the captain of the shrimp boat who stopped there to refuel and often left us free bait shrimp on his boat. Of course we also spent a lot of time at the dock and experienced the beautiful sunsets over the water. While these boys enjoyed the Florida fishing grounds, our granddaughters loved playing in the sand and the clear, shallow water.

We were amazed at how inexpensive most vacation rentals were when we compared them to other popular Florida vacation destinations. In fact, we could pay less than half of what we paid for a rent on the Gulf Coast in the Panhandle.

We were also able to upgrade our Daytona stay so that we could have a room right on the beach, but we had to pay an upgrade fee of $180 to get it. We actually got a suite with kitchen in Orlando Silverlake and emailed Jade to verify that if it was an upgrade we wouldn't have to pay extra to get the beach room in Daytona.

Jade also told us that we could save money by eating continental breakfast at the hotel, which is open until 11am. A complimentary continental breakfast is served in the airy dining room, and the outdoor pool is the perfect spot for an afternoon swim.

To spend a holiday in Port Richey, make sure you plan a day to visit Tarpon Springs. Spend the day at the sponge dock or take the kids to the TARPON Springs Aquarium and swim in the pool. You can also enjoy the beach, where you can picnic, walk and picnic with your family on the shore. Families can also enjoy a trip to one of our favorite beaches, such as Lake Okeechobee, near Tarsons Springs, as well as the beautiful beaches of St. Lucie Beach and Fort Myers.

In Port Richey, guests can feed a live alligator during feeding time and take part in an exploration game where guests are asked to find artifacts and follow in the footsteps of great adventurers in the Congo.

If you prefer game or sport fishing, Port Richey is one of the best places to charter and fish the deep sea in the Gulf of Mexico. There are also natural springs for foraging and bees for kayaking on both sides of the lake, and of course many fishing spots.
